ASACP Announces First CTO And Enhanced Reviewing Procedures

Los Angeles - (July 21, 2003) - Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) is pleased to announce that Brandon Shalton has joined ASACP as its CTO. Brandon has over 15 years of experience in the IT and business management industries and is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Computer Technology.

"Brandon has worked with mainstream and adult companies, so he understands both worlds. It`s a perfect fit. ASACP needed a person who could evaluate its current procedures, develop systems to automate these, and position ASACP for the future. Brandon will provide ASACP with new technology tools like web spidering programs and image processing applications, in addition to building a new Intranet. The new tech tools will free up the Compliance and Site Review Manager to do even more research on valid child pornography sites and facilitate more detailed statistical analysis. Spidering technology will verify that each Approved Member and its affiliates comply with the ASACP Code of Ethics. The new Intranet will be able to send CP Reports to various child protection agencies around the world. ASACP will also provide reports on offending affiliates to its Approved Members and Sponsors," said Joan Irvine, Executive Director, ASACP.

As an innovator. I create applications and services that assist people in their lives using technology. ASACP`s charter is focused on a great cause and I wanted to be able to contribute to that cause, with my skills and experiences. Technology is never the solution, but the means for enabling people to achieve their goals. With all the work that Alec Helmy, President of Helmy Enterprises, has done since he established ASACP in 1996, the supporters of ASACP, and the new energy that Joan has contributed, all that was missing was some additional tools to continue the pro-active efforts of eliminating child pornography sites from the web, said Shalton.

Over 4700 adult sites are taking a stand against child pornography by proudly displaying the ASACP logo. If you are interested in learning more about ASACP or want to help in the fight against child pornography, please view the ASACP site ( ).
