Email "Spoofed" Attacks Result in ASACP Receiving Over 4000 Suspect Child Pornography Reports

Los Angeles - (February 4, 2003) - Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) received over 4000 suspect child pornography reports in January. Of these, ASACP reported 225 child pornography sites to the authorities, and 130 of these sites have been shutdown.

It appears that `spoofed` spams are increasing. This has taxed ASACP resources as evidenced by the receipt of over 4000 reports in January. Epoch Transaction Services, an ASACP Founding Sponsor, will solve this problem for us.They are evaluating our procedures and writing a program to make them more efficient" Joan Irvine, Executive Director of ASACP.

ASACP is an organization helping the adult site industry to make a difference in the battle against child pornography. Over 2000 adult sites that are taking a stand against child pornography proudly displayed the ASACP logo. If you are interested in learning more about ASACP or helping in the fight against child pornography, please view the ASACP site (www.asacp.org) or email [email protected] .
