ASACP Reaches Out to Content Creators, Offers New Membership Level

LOS ANGELES (August 15, 2022) — ASACP, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection, is reaching out to today’s new generation of independent artists, content creators, and models with an all-new membership level catering to their specific needs.

ASACP’s sponsors and members represent the adult digital media industry’s most respected companies and individuals. These supporters demonstrate how corporate responsibility, ethical business practices, and simple technical measures can help protect minors and other sensitive users from accidental exposure to age-restricted materials online.

As a nonprofit association, ASACP relies on the continued support of those willing to assume a proactive leadership role in the fight to protect children online, including the performers and producers of adult-oriented entertainment.

Affordably priced at only $200 per year, ASACP’s new Creator-level membership is the perfect opportunity for smaller operators and solo artists to take the next step in building their careers.

The move is important, because creators are positioned on the front line of the battle to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented entertainment and are thus directly impacted by evolving regulations and other operational concerns.

“By joining ASACP, content creators can help prove and improve their compliance with child protection rules. In addition, they can directly report any CSAM incidents and actively protect their online reputation,” ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning said. “As the industry changes, performers increasingly control production, and ASACP is embracing this evolution.”

From cam models to clip artists, influencers, streamers, performers, and more, people worldwide are discovering the opportunity and profit potential of monetizing their personality by developing an online persona. Unfortunately, promoting these efforts often focuses on developing a fan base via mainstream social media sites, where audiences have not been age-verified. In this environment, where parents, preachers, law enforcement, and lawmakers are also watching their posts, content creators need to show that they intend their material for use by adults only and that they support online child protection.

A verifiable ASACP membership is an easy, responsible way to show you care about child safety.

“The association’s sponsors and members show their support for our industry’s child protection efforts because it’s the right thing to do,” Henning explained. “This can be as simple as boosting public awareness by displaying their membership credentials in their social media accounts.”

Creators also benefit from ASACP’s free child protection resources, such as its market-specific Best Practices and comprehensive Code of Ethics for age-restricted content publishers. In addition, by using the association’s RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta-labeling system that helps prevent children’s access to adult-oriented web pages, creators with a website or app have an indispensable asset that proves they care about keeping kids off their site.

As with all ASACP’s services, these tools are free for all publishers — including independent content creators and individual influencers that are now warmly welcomed into the association.
