ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine on Legal Panel at GAYVN Retreat


Los Angeles, CA (October 24, 2007) – Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) Executive Director Joan Irvine will be participating in the GAYVN Retreat Education Symposium.

The GAYVN Webmaster Retreat will take place October 25 – 27, 2007 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, California. This first annual gay adult entertainment webmaster conference was developed with a specific focus on business and technology. The GAYVN Retreat is designed to bring professionals from all sectors together to participate in an educational symposium, partner pavilion, specialty functions and off-site evening parties.

Irvine will be a part of the legal panel which will take place on Saturday, October 27th from 2:45 – 4:00pm. Entitled “2257 Legal Specific - What You Need to Know” the panel will feature a step-by-step instructional seminar on how to be 2257 compliant. In addition Irvine will be on hand to discuss ASACP’s RTA (“Restricted to Adults”) website label.

“Much of 2257 was created under the guise of child protection” said Irvine, “I plan to discuss how you can really protect children while at the same time be protecting your business.”

Also on the panel will be Free Speech Coalition Chair and attorney Jeffrey Douglas, Mark Kernes of the AVN Media Network, and Chad Belville, Esq. The panel will be moderated by attorney Clyde DeWitt.

Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet.
