Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2009) – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) honored Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick, and Evan Seinfeld with its annual Service Recognition Awards on February 12th at the XBIZ Awards.

The award ceremony took place at BOULEVARD3 in Hollywood and was a part of the XBIZ State of the Industry Conference 2009. XBIZ is a business resource site for the adult web industry.

Ever since ASACP was founded in 1996, its success has depended on the contributions of its generous sponsors and members, its dedicated advisory council, and many other people who have volunteered valuable time and resources because they support ASACP’s mission of child protection. Each year, ASACP’s Service Recognition Award is presented to the person, or persons, whose consistent contributions have helped make the organization’s work possible.

This year, ASACP recognized the work of three people who have been incredibly helpful to ASACP. Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick, and Evan Seinfeld have all created public service announcements (PSAs) for the Restricted to Adults – RTA Website Label. The RTA PSAs remind parents to utilize parental filtering software in order to protect children from viewing age-inappropriate material online.

Teravision President and multi-award winning adult actress Tera Patrick along with her husband, musician and actor Evan Seinfeld both volunteered their time, resources, and star-power to create a PSA for ASACP which has gained significant exposure for the Restricted To Adults Website label.

Wicked Pictures contract performer, writer and director Stormy Daniels not only created the first RTA PSA, she has participated in two press conferences for RTA. Daniels has recently been approached by a political group in Louisiana that is trying to encourage her to run for Senate in 2010 against Senator David Vitter. The “Draft Stormy” campaign continues to gain momentum and national media attention even though Daniels has yet to confirm that she will indeed run for the Senate.

RTA is the adult entertainment industry’s initiative to protect children from viewing content that is age-inappropriate. It was developed by ASACP out of a need for an easy to use and internationally recognized label that designates content for adults only. The RTA label is a unique string of “meta data” which can easily be inserted into the computer code of any website. Parental filtering software recognizes the tag and prevents children from viewing adult content. The RTA label is free and universally available. ASACP launched RTA in November 2006 and it currently has 6 million page link-ins.

ASACP’s CEO Joan Irvine presented the awards; Seinfeld was on hand to accept the awards on behalf of himself and Patrick. Alexander “MonStar” Raymond of The Star Factory accepted Daniels’ award.

“We are so grateful to Stormy, Tera, and Evan for taking the time to make the RTA PSAs and drawing attention to the importance of parental involvement when it comes to protecting children online,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine. “Recently the Harvard University's Berkman Center for Internet and Society released the Internet Safety Technical Task Force Report. The task force was founded by and includes 49 state attorneys general, as well as executives from Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, Verizon and AOL. The report included findings and recommendations for improving online child safety. In the report they stressed the most important tool to protect children online is parental involvement – which is something Stormy, Tera and Evan have been saying all along in the RTA PSAs!”

Past recipients of ASACP’s Service Recognition Award include Fiona Patten and Robbie Swan of The Eros Association, attorneys Greg Piccionelli and Lawrence Walters, technical consultant Brandon Shalton of Cydata Services, and ASACP Technology and Forensic Research Director Tim Henning.
