ASACP Returns to the Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention

LOS ANGELES (Feb. 20, 2013) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is delighted to announce that it will once again participate in the virtual reality based Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention (AEVC).

According to its promoters, the second annual AEVC has been in the planning process since the doors closed on the hugely successful 2012 show. The 2013 show will be a four day event expected to bring together thousands of adult industry professionals and enthusiasts in a an immersive 3D virtual environment, providing a low cost, no travel trade show experience that promises to be bigger and better than last year. The event is produced by Red Light Center and UtherConvention and is being held on February 20-23.

ASACP’s Executive Director Tim Henning will be attending via an interactive avatar.

“Last year’s inaugural AEVC was an eye-opener that revealed a glimpse of the future of social media and adult entertainment,” Henning added. “This first-hand experience of today’s virtual worlds helps ASACP craft better Best Practices and influence child protection systems targeting these online ecosystems.”

As a non-profit organization, ASACP is prevented by financing and staff availability from attending every relevant industry event, so AEVC’s virtual world is especially attractive for the association and other stakeholders who would be unable to attend a real world counterpart.

“Because of its mission of keeping children out of and away from online adult entertainment, ASACP is by nature a tech-forward organization,” Henning stated. “AEVC represents the crossroads of technology and adult entertainment, so participating in this unique event is a natural for ASACP, as it exposes us to a broader audience than we might otherwise reach.”

The show’s promoters have graciously provided ASACP with a virtual booth where Henning will be available to chat and answer questions and attendees are able to view virtual literature.
