Increase In Number Of Reports Continues

Los Angeles - (May 5, 2004)
- ASACP is an organization helping the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. ASACP received over 4600 suspect child pornography reports in April and is continuing to see a large increase in the quantity of reports received. Of these, over 300 sites were reported to authorities; compared to a past average of 100 per month. This very significant increase in the number of raw and validated reports, sent on to authorities, has been relatively constant for the past two months.

I believe that we are seeing this increase in raw and validated reports as a result of more than one factor. New search engine technology, the ever increasing amount of unwanted spam email, rapidly growing awareness of ASACP both on-line and in mainstream media, and a growing proliferation of child pornography sites are all contributing to the increase, said Tim Henning, Site Reviewer.

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the increase in reports is the increase in validated child pornography content that is new and previously unseen by ASACP. In the past, much of the content was not original to a particular suspect site but seen many times duplicated on many sites. As the numbers of child pornography sites grow, there seems to be more competition for customers and more pressure to provide new content to those customers. Sadly, this can only mean one thing; more innocent children are being abused to provide this illegal content.

Over 4700 sites that are taking a stand against child pornography proudly display the ASACP logo. If you are interested in learning more about ASACP or helping in the fight against child pornography, please view the ASACP site (www.asacp.org ) or email [email protected].
