Barcelona Summit Represents ASACP at International Event

Los Angeles, CA (May 21, 2009) - Attendees at this year's Barcelona Summit will have the opportunity to learn more about the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) and its work on behalf of the online adult industry.

The Barcelona Summit 2009 is the first major international conference for the adult online industry in Europe. The event will take place June 15-17th at the ME-Barcelona hotel in Spain. Representing 27 countries and 450 million people, The Barcelona Summit will bring together professionals from Spain, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Russia, United States and other markets to host a truly Pan-European event. For B2B and webmasters, The Barcelona Summit will offer its participants an exciting learning experience, top-class facilities and a spectacular venue to achieve their business goals.

The Barcelona Summit will be distributing information on ASACP to all attendees and ASACP CEO Joan Irvine will be attending the event.

“Child protection is international and so is ASACP’s membership; even the Restricted To Adults - RTA Website Label has an EU Community Mark. But we know that countries in the EU have different child protection and governmental issues than we have in the United States. So we are taking this opportunity to learn if there are there specific countries where we need to focus our advocacy efforts,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine. “In addition to attending the Barcelona Summit, while in Europe I will meet with our current international sponsors. I will also meet with other child protection advocates in Spain and Ireland in order to develop a strategic plan so that we all can most effectively use our limited resources.”

Andreas Bischoff of The Barcelona Summit added, “The Barcelona Summit strongly backs and supports the goals of the ASACP and extensive information on their activities will be widely available to all participants and sponsors during this Pan European event. We look forward to a long lasting relationship with an organization that represents the same commitments we have.”

ASACP is looking for companies to help sponsor this trip to the EU. Anyone who is interested, please contact Joan Irvine at [email protected].

Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online. Companies and individuals interested in supporting ASACP may go to www.asacp.org for more information on how to get involved.
