ASACP Receives Over 4000 Reports

Los Angeles - (June 16, 2003) - ASACP received over 4000 suspect child pornography reports in May and reported over 120 sites to the authorities. The F.B.I. has expressed appreciation on the comprehensive information ASACP provides on child pornography sites and the overwhelming cooperation of the industry.

Due to the increasing number of reports and the time it takes to properly process these, ASACP is reviewing its procedures and will implement new software this summer. Therefore, it is even more important for everyone to report suspect child pornography using the form at http://www.asacp.org/reportsite.html, said Joan Irvine, Executive Director, ASACP.

ASACP only reviews Websites.` Please report only websites and include the exact URL of where the child pornography is present.

ASACP does not review:

  • Bulletin Boards; the URL includes `bbs`
  • Newsgroups; the URL includes alt.binaries`
  • P2P; i.e. Kazaa and Morpeus
  • Instant messages, message boards or conversations from chatrooms.
  • Web communities, i.e. Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Lycos.
  • ASACP is an organization helping the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography, not spam or problems with excessive popups. Therefore, it cannot respond to non-child pornography issues.

Over 4000 adult sites that are taking a stand against child pornography proudly display the ASACP logo. If you are interested in learning more about ASACP or helping in the fight against child pornography, please view the ASACP site (www.asacp.org) or email [email protected].
