Tim Henning Promoted to ASACP VP Technology and Forensic Research
Los Angeles, CA (August 2, 2010) ASACP is pleased to announce that Tim Henning has been promoted to VP – Technology and Forensic Research.
Tim was the first staff member of ASACP in 1996 working as a Forensic Investigator for the CP Reporting Hotline. Tim has a degree in Computer Science and he worked as a webmaster. It is because of Tim’s expertise and the data from its Hotline that both ASACP and the industry have proof that the professional adult entertainment industry is not involved in child pornography. Tim continually increases his role in the international child protection community. His efforts have helped law enforcement convict criminals involved in child pornography and he has been slated as an expert witness in several cases because of his expertise.
Henning is responsible for overseeing the development of ASACP’s technical infrastructure including the CP reporting hotline, ASACP’s membership monitoring program, and last but not least – the very successful and award winning Restricted to Adults – RTA label There are over 11 million pages labeled with RTA and over 10 billion hits daily to pages labeled with RTA. Tim facilitates the ASACP Technical Taskforce which collaborates on potential future technologies to determine what ASACP needs to develop to protect children. Currently this Taskforce is adapting RTA for use on mobile APPS.
He represents ASACP at the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography; other participants include Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, international banking and law enforcement. He is a member of the Analytics and Technology Challenges Working Groups. He attends various technology conferences including the Internet Safety Technical Task Force and the Congressional Internet Caucus State of the Net annual meetings.
