ICRA and ASACP Share a Common Mission: Protect the Children

Los Angeles - (April 1, 2003) - The Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) and Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) have exchanged links under Industry Resources.

Many in adult site industry have labeled with ICRA and are members of ASACP; therefore, it was important for our two organizations to promote each other`s mission. ICRA is one of the first mainstream association to recognize ASACP`s valuable work by including the ASACP logo, description and link under their resources, says Joan Irvine, Executive Director - ASACP.

The Internet Content Rating Association (icra.org) is an international, independent organization that empowers the public, especially parents, to make informed decisions about electronic media by means of the open and objective labeling of content. ICRA`s dual aims are to protect children from potentially harmful material and to protect free speech on the Internet.

ASACP is the organization that helps the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. Since 1996, ASACP investigated thousands of child pornography sites and reported valid ones to the F.B.I. and U.S. Custom Services. The F.B.I. issues subpoenas for the majority of these sites and utilizes ASACP`s research expertise for special projects. ASACP provides a vehicle for self-regulation in the adult site industry; it verifies that ASACP Approved Members comply with its Code of Ethics and Best Practices.

Over 3000 adult sites that are taking a stand against child pornography proudly displayed the ASACP logo. If you are interested in learning more about ASACP or helping in the fight against child pornography, please view the ASACP site (www.asacp.org) or email [email protected].
