The U.S. Senate Approves Senate Bill 151

Los Angeles - (February 26, 2003) - Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) recently stated in a press release, the legal system and the professionals in the adult industry have said `enough` to the depiction of underage children. When it comes to child pornography, it is always best to err on the side of caution. To reinforce this and help the adult site industry self-regulate, earlier this year ASACP introduced a new Code of Ethics for its members.

ASACP Member and Sponsor Code of Ethics

• Comply with the child pornography laws of the United States and European Union governments.
• Promptly report incidences of suspected child pornography to ASACP.
• Maintain required `model release licenses`, such as Form 2257.
• Do not use keywords or search terms that denote child pornography, such as, but not limited to: kiddie, child, pre-teen or any form of lolita, etc. (For a complete list, refer to http://www.asacp.org/list.html ).
• Only do business with companies that adhere to ASACP Code of Ethics.
• Display an "approved" ASACP logo on your site as a testimonial that your site does not contain nor condone child pornography.

  Guess what? What ASACP and other industry leaders have been saying for years may soon be the law.

  On February 24th, The Senate passed a bill to amend title 18, United States Code, with respect to the sexual exploitation of children (Senate Bill 151, Protect Act 2003): to `prohibit advertising, promoting, distributing, or soliciting in interstate or foreign commerce any material in a manner that reflects the belief or that is intended to cause another to believe that it contains an obscene visual depiction of a minor, or a visual depiction of an actual minor, engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

  Although no law is perfect, `the adult entertainment industry looks forward to working with the government (on a law) that is objectively made and just, and I believe this is going to do just that, said Bill Lyon, Executive Director, Free Speech Coalition ( http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,109537,00.asp ).
